These are the findings of the majority of Member Movements of the World Movement of Christian Workers (WMCW).
The WMCW have produced a 10-page Infor bulletin précising the response of Member Movements to their Global Survey enquiring into the realities and effects of the pandemic on workers’ lives.
Produced in a Review of Life Method of See, Judge, Act the bulletin’s summaries spans a wide-ranging geographical expanse of countries and continents.
Member Movements representing workers across the globe identified the preceding years of neo-liberal and austerity polices that laid down a foundation of “suffering, fear and poverty”.
The implications of these policies have been “amplified” by the pandemic and magnified the effects with dire and grave consequences as a result for workers and their families.
Despite this Signs of Hope were found in the solidarity and involvement of many along with the recognition of sectors and categories of workers whose role and contributions have been ignored or overlooked in the past.
MCW England joins with the prayer of the WMCW Chaplain in asking for “help to grow even more in consciousness and courage to choose the right path”. Crucially he reminds us of the essential and key basis of the Method of MCW that “God is in the question”. See full story by clicking link below:
